8 Air Purifying Indoor Plants For Your Home to Clean The Air

If you are looking to keep your homes air healthy and clean then you will want to look into some of these air purifying indoor plants. 

How do we know that these plants actually help to clean the air in our home?

In the 1980’s NASA did a clean air study and found that there were plants that help to remove indoor toxins from our air.

These following 8 plants are some of the plants that they discovered to help keep your air clean.

They recommend that you have at least 1 plant per 100 square feet of your home. 

I know that I am going to be buying a few of these plants to keep my indoor air healthy and clean.

It seems like plants are getting popular as home decor lately so your house will look nice and you will have have pure air!

1. Florist’s Chrysanthemum

This one is so pretty, easy to find, and very inexpensive. This plant is amazing a purifying your home’s air.

I do love this one because of the pretty flowers.

Would be perfect to keep in the kitchen or at your office desk since it’s a smaller plant.

2. Peace Lily

This is another beautiful option.

The peace lily will help to purify your homes air and has pretty white lilies that bloom.

They are easy to grow and make a wonderful houseplant.

3. Red-Edged Dracaena

This one is a very pretty green and white plant. This one can grow up to 15 feet tall.

While it would take a while to get this big.

It is a larger house plant and would be perfect for a large space like a living room.

4. Varigated Snake Plant

If you aren’t very good at keeping plants alive then this might be the option for you.

It will purify your homes air and it requires very little cares since it is such a hardy plant.

5. English Ivy

I have seen English Ivy in many different homes that I had visited but never knew that it helped to purify air.

This plant is so pretty but needs quite a bit of space since it spreads.

It would be great up on a large shelf or as a hanging plant.

6. Cornstalk Dracaena

This one is often referred to as a false palm as it does have a bit of a tropical look.

I love anything that looks tropical!

It’s a larger plant so it would be perfect for a living room or bedroom as a floor plant.

7. Broadleaf Lady Palm

These easy to care for plans will be perfect for a beginner.

They help eliminate toxins form the air and make a beautiful natural addition to your home decor.

They are are large potted plant so you will want to make sure they have enough space to grow. 

This one looks to be nontoxic for animals. Perfect for you if you have pets.

8. Spider Plant

These are one of my favorites. They are easy and quick to grow. I have had a few of these in the past.

You can also cut some of the starts and place them in a water to start new plants. 

They grow quick and are hanging plants so you will want to find something tall to set it on or find a plant hanger for it. 

This one also looks to be nontoxic to animals. Would be a great option if you have pets.

Most of these plants are toxic to animals when ingested so before you go out and buy you will want to make sure that it won’t make your animals sick.
