Extreme workouts and dieting might work in the short term, but they are not healthy and most of the time you just gain the weight back after you stop.

Instead you should focus on daily habits that you can use to create a healthy lifestyle change.

This will help you to get rid of the weight and not gain it back.

These are all the exact things that I have used to lose weight and keep it off.

1. Look For Ways To Get Active

Naturally, we tend to look for the easiest and quickest ways to get things done. 

Oftentimes, this means we are shortcutting and not getting much physical activity in. 

Instead of looking for the easiest way, look for ways that you can get things done and get more physical activity at the same time. 

Next time you park, instead of trying to find a spot right up front, just purposely park far away just so that you have to walk a longer distance to the store. 

Instead of taking the elevator, use the stairs.

If you have to go somewhere that isn’t too far away then just walk, instead of driving. 

It might not seem like much at first, but all these extra steps and activity will add up to help you lose weight and keep it off easier. 

You should also be trying to add some kind of daily exercise into your routine.

You could go to the gym, workout from home, or even start walking daily. 

Just make sure that it is something that works for you and that you make it a habit. 

These small daily changes are what it takes to see results.

2. Drink More Water

The majority of people are not drinking enough water. 

Water is so important for losing weight. 

It helps to keep your body functioning at its best, and also helps you to feel fuller. 

Sometimes when you feel hungry, you are actually just thirsty. 

It has been proven that if you drink a few glasses of water before you eat, you will feel fuller and eat less. 

So make sure you are drinking plenty of water through the entire day.

This will help with your weight loss and keep you feeling less hungry.

3. Stay Away From Packaged and Processed Foods

It’s so easy to turn to packaged food.

It’s quick, convenient, and tastes good! 

If you really want to lose weight then you need to cut out as much processed food as possible from your diet. 

Packaged foods are not good for you, and they can cause you to gain weight. 

Try adding more vegetables and whole foods into your daily diet and stay away from anything that comes in a box. 

This can be hard at first, but it is a small daily change that will really help you see progress toward your weight loss goals.

4. Eat on Smaller Plates

This is one of my favorite tips!

Buy smaller plates and always eat from the small plates not the large ones.

When you have larger dinner plates you naturally fill up the entire plate.

This causes you to have much bigger portion sizes than you would if you filled up a small plate. 

Eating smaller portions will help you to eat less calories and lose more weight.

5. Don’t Drink Your Calories

It is so easy to consume lots of calories in just one drink. 

Make sure you look at what you are drinking, many drinks have a ton of added calories and sugar. 

Try to stay away from smoothies and soda and stick to drinking just water as much as possible. 

One of the things that I did to help me lose weight was to stop drinking soda and only drink water. 

This is an easy way to lower your sugar and calorie intake.

Plus water is so much better for you. 

Next time you are thirsty just drink some ice water instead. 

6. Keep Bad Foods Out of The House 

If you have unhealthy foods in your home it can be so hard not to eat them. 

When you are really serious about changing your habits and losing weight you should make sure you don’t have any unhealthy foods at home. 

Go through your kitchen and get rid of all the bad foods. 

This doesn’t mean that you can never have a cheat day, or eat anything bad, but by not having it in your home it will be less likely that you reach for it.

If you are really craving something unhealthy you can always go to the store and buy just a small amount to satisfy your craving.

Just don’t leave it in your house.

This will make it much less likely that you will be eating bad foods daily. 

Keep your kitchen full of healthy alternatives that you can eat when you are hungry. 

7. Watch Your Carbs 

Too many carbohydrates can cause you to gain weight quick. 

Also, if you are trying to lose weight you really want to watch your carb intake.

Breads, pasta, and even certain vegetables have so many carbohydrates. 

Make sure that you are keeping track of how many carbs you are consuming, you might just be surprised. 

If you keep your daily carb intake lower then it will be much easier to lose weight.

These are all easy things to do everyday to lose weight. 

Try to start working some of these things into your daily routine. 

It will really help you to have a healthier lifestyle, lose the extra pounds, and easily keep it off. 

Getting fit and healthy is about changing the things that you do every single day. 

Small changes will give you big results.
